Six Methods of Wall Greening
With the rapid increase of urban populations, tight land supply, increased heat island effects, and ecological, environmental, and other problems are increasing too. Wall Greenings hope for improving the urban ecology and environment. Engineering companies pay a lot of attention to wall greening, but at present the domestic research on it is not sufficient, and a lot of people in the industry want to understand it better.
Indoor vertical green wall is able to cool 16 degrees and save 1.45 kw electricity daily. The concept of vertical greening walls has caused a lot of reaction among people who are worried that putting plants on the outside of buildings will lead to mosquito breeding an d that the green wall component is convenient for burglars. Results of studies show that attracted insects are generally non-harmful, such as butterflies, moths or ants. Since the walls are free of standing water, they do not enable mosquito breeding.
Green walls can help alleviate the urban heat island effect and make buildings cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Significant absorption of noise and dust can be achieved, and increasing the quantity of living green structures improves the urban ecology and environment.
We divide wall greening into six types.
1. MODULAR
Modular planting of plants is used to realize wall greening.
2. POTTED
The placement type is to directly place the plant growth matrix or module on the wall to form a planar system of the wall.
3. PLANTERS
Climbing or hanging type means planting climbing or hanging vines on the wall. This kind of afforest form is simple and easy to operate, cost is lower, previous to light and air well.
4. COLLOCATE
The placement type is to install potted flower solid in the vertical face frame made of stainless steel, reinforced concrete or other materials. The vertical surface greening, which is similar to the modularization, is a kind of “miniature” module.
5. POCKET
The cloth bag type is a kind of technology system developed on the basis of the greening system of the placement type.
6. TROUGH
The Plate trough type is to install the v-shaped plate on the wall at a certain distance, fill the plate trough with a light planting matrix, and then plant various plants on the substrate.
